We are now on the hunt for an experienced & talented scene prep artist who will join the scene prep team based in Kilkenny, Ireland.

 

About the role: The role of the scene prep artist is to work closely with your supervisor to prepare the Toon Boom Harmony scenes for animation, as well as troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the production.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for the technical performance of Toon Boom Harmony scene files
  • Set up and prepare Harmony scene files for production, working to an assigned schedule and weekly output quota
  • Collaborate with all other departments (builds & rigging, background, animation, lighting & FX, compositing) under the supervision of the technical director
  • Attend team meetings relating to identifying and resolving technical issues with shot files
  • Other duties as may be required with the early compositing and scene prep
  • Address any problems with supervisor and production manager


General responsibilities:

  • Attend workshops and studio/project meetings as required for effective execution of role
  • Remain informed and updated on industry/sector developments
  • Ensure availability on messaging systems and email during work hours
  • Build and maintain positive and constructive working relationships with colleagues and partners
  • Treat colleagues and partners with dignity and respect
  • Be an advocate of the studio’s diversity and inclusivity ethos  
  • Follow all rules and regulations of employment, as outlined in the crew handbook

This above is not exhaustive and from time to time you may be asked to carry out other tasks.

 

Key requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience working as a scene prep artist
  • Expert knowledge in Toon Boom Harmony Premium is essential
  • Basics knowledge of Photoshop
  • Be driven and able to work effectively on an independent basis
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to communicate well in a fast-paced and creative environment
  • Must possess excellent time management skills with the utmost respect for deadlines
  • Must be willing to relocate to Kilkenny
